Comparison
DealSource Systems vs Praxis Rock.
DealSource Systems wrote this page and DealSource Systems is one of the firms on it. That belongs in the first line, not in a footnote. Praxis Rock is the one firm here that sells both the software and the done-for-you programme, and it covers a job we do not do at all. Every Praxis Rock claim below was read off praxisrock.com on 22 September 2026 and is quoted, not summarised.
Who each one is for
Praxis Rock lists the firms it runs programmes for as "Private Equity Firms, Independent Sponsors, Holding Companies, Family Offices, Hedge Funds, Venture Capital Firms, Real Estate Firms, Corporate Acquirers, Startups, Growth-Stage Companies". The natural fit is a firm that wants one system covering both institutional fundraising and acquisition sourcing, run largely by software.
DealSource Systems fits a fund, advisor or bank that wants owner conversations on a defined thesis, with a person accountable for every message that reaches an owner.
What Praxis Rock actually does
Their own definition: "Praxis Rock Advisors is a capital intelligence platform for private markets, built to replace manual fundraising and deal sourcing with autonomous infrastructure." The deliverable is a full programme, not a list: the platform "identifies the right individual at the right institution, maps the relationship path connecting you to that person, and executes a full outreach program under your brand". They put it plainly: "Not a lead list. Not a CRM integration. A complete program, from initial sourcing through a confirmed first meeting."
It runs as two modules. "Capital formation serves fund managers and corporates raising institutional capital, including PE fundraising. Deal origination serves acquirers sourcing proprietary targets." Firms that would rather run it themselves "can now operate the platform directly", so the same product is sold as software and as a service.
Their case for the data is that commercial databases are the problem: "The commercial databases that most firms rely on recycle the same records across the same subscriber base." The people behind it are named as "practitioners from The Carlyle Group, Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan, and Bank of America". The counters on their homepage claim 100+ clients, 2.5M+ people mapped, 55+ sectors covered and $1.5B+ capital facilitated. No pricing is published.
What we do
DealSource Systems runs origination as a standing function for private equity funds, M&A advisors, boutique investment banks and search funds. AI maps the market against your thesis, scores readiness signals on each company and drafts the approach. Then operators with deal experience review every message before an owner sees it and handle the replies, including the ones that need a real answer about structure or timing.
Pricing is on the site rather than behind a call: from $4,000 a month for a single thesis, $8,000 and above for a dedicated multi-thesis mandate, no success fee, 90-day minimum term. The engagement we publish in full is Merritt Healthcare Advisors, a healthcare investment bank: 14 qualified founder conversations in the first three weeks, 133 inside 90 days. We are part of Danish Lead Co.

Where Praxis Rock is stronger than us
They raise capital as well as source deals. The capital formation module goes after institutional allocators for fund managers. We do not do fundraising at all. If you want one vendor for both jobs, that is a real reason to pick them.
You can take the software. Firms that want to run the system in-house can operate the platform directly. We only sell the done-for-you version.
Named senior pedigree. Carlyle, Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan and Bank of America, with the founders named on the site. Our operators have deal experience but we do not carry those logos.
Breadth of client type. Hedge funds, real estate firms, venture funds and startups are all in scope for them. Our mandates are narrower on purpose.
Where we are stronger
A person reads every message before an owner does. Their pitch is autonomy: agents that identify, draft and execute. Ours deliberately keeps an operator in the loop on the message and the reply. If you are approaching owners about the biggest financial decision of their life, that difference is the whole product, and it is a genuine choice rather than a knock on them.
The price is published. From $4,000 a month, $8,000 and above for a dedicated multi-thesis mandate. They publish none.
Outcome data, not volume data. Their published counters are inputs and totals: people mapped, sectors covered, capital facilitated. We publish what the outreach actually produced, including the median campaign getting three positive replies in its first 60 days.
One job, done properly. We only do owner conversations for acquisition and mandate origination. A platform covering fundraising, real estate and startups is spread across jobs with very different buyers.
When to choose Praxis Rock over us
Choose Praxis Rock if you are raising a fund as well as sourcing deals and want one system for both, if you want to license the software and run outreach with your own team, or if the senior capital markets pedigree on the founding team is what your committee wants to see.
When to choose us over Praxis Rock
Choose us if you want a human accountable for every approach to an owner rather than an autonomous agent, if you want the price published before the call, if you want the measured results published rather than input counters, or if your need is owner conversations specifically rather than a platform spanning fundraising and sourcing.
How we checked this
Read on 22 September 2026: praxisrock.com for the platform definition, the two modules, the client list, the data argument, the founding team description and the homepage counters. Their public pages carry no pricing, so this page does not estimate one. Our own figures come from our published engagement, our stated pricing and our published benchmarks. Both firms self-report.
Common questions
Is Praxis Rock software or a service?
Both. They describe "a capital intelligence platform" that "executes a full outreach program under your brand", and firms that prefer to run it themselves "can now operate the platform directly". We only sell the done-for-you version.
Does Praxis Rock help with fundraising?
Yes, and this is the clearest difference between the two firms. Their capital formation module "serves fund managers and corporates raising institutional capital, including PE fundraising". We do not do fundraising at all.
How much does Praxis Rock cost?
No pricing is published on their site. Ours is: from $4,000 a month, and $8,000 and above for a dedicated multi-thesis mandate, with no success fee.
What is the biggest difference between the two?
Who writes to the owner. Their case is autonomous infrastructure that drafts and sends under your brand. Ours keeps an operator with deal experience reviewing every message before an owner sees it, and handling the replies that need a real answer.
